This MoU helps both Cochrane Iran and IRIMC to meet their strategic plans and work towards the dissemination of Cochrane products and its use in practice.
A number of joint activities have already been defined, including:

- Training will be provided by Cochrane Iran. This may include continuing education through workshops/lectures at IRIMCcongress and seminars.
- Joint advocacy efforts to raise the profile of evidence-informed decision-making will be developed.
This collaboration builds on the homogeneity of stakeholders of Cochrane and IRIMC. Both organizations believe in evidence-based practice. Further, it is essentialtoreduce uncertainty by using evidence-basedmethodologyinretrieving, assessment and summarising evidence. This in turn will lead to better informed choices by practitioners, policy makers and patients; and will ultimately lead to better health outcomes.

‘’The formal collaboration will enhance integration of clinical experience and patient values with the best available research information” said Ali Akbar Haghdoost, Director of Cochrane Iran. “Sometimes therecommendations by the healthcare providersarenot based on sound evidence and therefore patients may not only benefit the result but also experience harm.”
