On the occasion of National Pharmacist Day, IRIMC President honored pharmacists nationwide and admired their contributions to national healthcare system.
Each year in Iran, Razi's birthday (27th August, Iranian month 5th
Shahrivar) is celebrated and commemorated as the National Day of Pharmacists.
This day has been set aside to recognize and honor all pharmacists across the
nation.
“Muhammad
ibn Zakarya Razi is a celebrated Iranian alchemist and philosopher who is also recognized
as the greatest physician of the Islamic world.
Razi
was a multitalented Persian physician and scholar who made significant
contributions to the field of medicine, pharmacy, alchemy, and philosophy which
is well documented in more than 184 books and articles.
Regarding his remarkable contributions to the field of pharmacy,
his birthday is commemorated each year as the National Pharmacist's Day in Iran.
This day is an opportunity to appreciate dedications of pharmacists to national
health system.” Dr. Zali said
“Pharmacists
have key roles in national healthcare system and pharmacy is one of the fastest
growing areas in the field of medicine. They share a common commitment to
improving people's lives through medicines and care and making a real
contribution to the nation's health.
Iranian pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical science has
significantly improved during last 3 decades which made our country a
potentially pharmaceutical powerhouse in the region.” He added.
“Applying biotechnology in medicine and pharmaceutical products
resulted in potentially safer, more directed, and effective pharmaceuticals.
Iranian pharmaceutical industry has made big strides in this domain and by
fully implementation of its projects; it would be predominant in our region.”
