Each year in Iran, Razi's birthday (27th August, Iranian month 5th Shahrivar) is celebrated and commemorated as the National Day of Pharmacists. This day has been set aside to recognize and honor all pharmacists across the nation.

“Muhammad ibn Zakarya Razi is a celebrated Iranian alchemist and philosopher who is also recognized as the greatest physician of the Islamic world.

Regarding his remarkable contributions to the field of pharmacy, his birthday is commemorated each year as the National Pharmacist's Day in Iran. This day is an opportunity to appreciate dedications of pharmacists to national health system.” Dr. Zali said

“Pharmacists have key roles in national healthcare system and pharmacy is one of the fastest growing areas in the field of medicine. They share a common commitment to improving people's lives through medicines and care and making a real contribution to the nation's health.

Iranian pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical science has significantly improved during last 3 decades which made our country a potentially pharmaceutical powerhouse in the region.” He added.

“Applying biotechnology in medicine and pharmaceutical products resulted in potentially safer, more directed, and effective pharmaceuticals. Iranian pharmaceutical industry has made big strides in this domain and by fully implementation of its projects; it would be predominant in our region.” IRIMC President remarked.
