“Founded more than 60 years ago, Iranian Medical council (IRIMC) is the oldest and largest syndicate of all Iranian healthcare professionals including physicians, dentists, pharmacists and the like.

Representing more than 241,000 registered members, IRIMC is responsible for registration and licensing of all Iranian healthcare professionals (except nurses) and is the main authority responsible for professional inspection and disciplinary proceeding to ensure that doctors are fit to practice and in compliance with professional code of conduct and CE requirements. Moreover, IRIMC regulates bi or multilateral collaborations between health care professionals and other associations & organizations and all 170 medical, dental, and pharmaceutical national associations are affiliated to IRIMC.”

Head of Delegation added:”With 196 regional branches nationwide, the officials of Iranian Medical Council are elected through a democratic procedure and by the direct vote of Iranian healthcare professionals. In 2013, Dr. Zali, an accomplished academic medical physician and neurosurgeon was elected as the President of this organization. Due to Dr. Zali’s doctrine defined as global partnership for health and based on the new policies of foreign relations of Iran, we scheduled meetings with EU embassies in Iran to create a strong network between world-class scholars and scientists in the field of medicine and their Iranian counterparts which resulted in promising outcomes.

With the consistent efforts of my colleagues, we bridged the gap between certified medical and dental associations and our Council and reached milestones in forging cooperation agreements with certified scientific associations regarding boosting interchange of scientific information and research as well as making a prolific ambiance in which Iranian healthcare practitioners can be bridged to academicians and their counterparts around the globe.”
