The
General Assembly is the main deliberative Assembly of the IRIMC that serves as
its parliament. It composed of 224 members who elect IRIMC President as well as
the Supreme Council for a term of four years and 3 officers annually.
Currently, Dr. Aghazadeh is the Chairman of the General Assembly.
The
regular annual session opened on 7 August 2014 with the welcome
speech of the General Assembly chairman & IRIMC President.
The
items encompassed in the meeting agenda which was considered by the General
Assembly during the annual session were as follows:
-The
melioration of the healthcare system
-Taxation
-Tariff of the medical services & insurances
-The interrelationship between Iranian health care professionals
-Obstetrics and its perspective in the healthcare system
-Aging and healthcare
On
the first day of the proclaimed session, the Minister of Health, the Minister
of Labor & Social Welfare as well as the CEO of Social Security
Organization made a speech.
Dr. Hashemi, the Minister of Health emphasized on the melioration of national
healthcare system which would be achieved by interrelation and multilateral
collaboration between all healthcare professionals as well as major national
health organizations.
He added:"We should consider public health concerns of people and improve
healthcare system due to meet healthcare needs although the plan for
melioration of health system should encompass the concerns of healthcare
providers as well."
Dr.
Rabiei, the Minister of Labor & Social Welfare declared that the crucial
item due to fulfill the expectations in the melioration of healthcare system is
the accordance of healthcare professionals with this plan. In other words, they
should be pursuant to melioration of health system and IRIMC as the nation's
largest independent organization in the field of medicine should define this
plan in a way that meets health providers' concerns."
"I do believe in IRIMC as a Non Governmental Organization founded more
than 50 years ago. This organization which represents almost all health care
professionals has got an important role in the healthcare system." He
said.
CEO
of Iranian Social Security Organization also made a speech in the first day of
annual session of the General Assembly.
He said:"Implementation of new health policies can be achieved by
collaboration between all major national health organizations."
Dr.
Aghazadeh highly welcomed the attendance of senior official bodies and officially
commenced the meeting of General Assembly members in which they received the
annual report of IRIMC President, the Supreme Council as well as officers and
endorsed major policies offered by the Supreme Council. Furthermore the
officers have been elected for a term of one year.
On
the second day, the parliament speaker and IRIMC president made a speech.
Dr.
Larijani, the parliament speaker said:"IRIMC possesses a remarkable &
highly important position in the health system which protects and supports
patients' rights as well as professional rights of
health care
professionals."
He expressed his optimism for melioration of healthcare system as an
appropriate portion of national budget has been allocated to healthcare system.
Dr.
Zali, the President of Iran Medical Council was the second one who honored the
audiences and made a speech.
First of all, he highly appreciated the attendance of high-ranked official
bodies in the annual session of IRIMC General Assembly and strongly valued
their speeches.
Dr. Zali emphasized that Iranian Medical Council as the nation's largest
independent medical organization not only protects the professional rights of
health care professionals but also is the principal and cardinal guardian of
patients' rights by ensuring proper standards in the medical & dental
practice.
"IRIMC General Assembly alongside other major national health
organizations is ready to promote the plan for melioration of healthcare
system."IRIMC president said.
IRIMC
president was joined in this annual session by his executive board, senior
advisors and all IRIMC directors.
