The meeting was inaugurated by Dr. Zali, the President of IRI Medical Council. In his opening remarks, he highly welcomed the official bodies of Pakistan Physiotherapy Society and mentioned the status of physiotherapy in IRI Medical Council as well as the important role of Iranian physiotherapists in national healthcare system.

Dr. Riaz Baig Chughtai, Principal of Physiotherapy College of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center; Secretary-General of Pakistan Physiotherapy Society and Dr. Muhammad Asif, Principal of ISRA Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences; Deputy Secretary-General  of Pakistan Physiotherapy Society were very pleased to meet with Dr. Zali and highly appreciated warm welcome of IRIMC official bodies. They pointed that it has been a long history of cooperation between two nations.

Thereafter, Dr. Shokouhi who is the representative of Iranian physiotherapists and elected member of IRIMC Supreme Council as well as Dr. Mohseni Bandpey, Associate Professor in physiotherapy & Deputy for International Affairs of University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences made inquiries about educational criteria for physiotherapy within the Pakistan Education System and expressed their willingness to boost academic cooperation between two nations in the field of physiotherapy which was embraced by Dr. Chughtai and Dr. Asif.

Dr. Chughtai and Dr.Asif highly appreciated the hospitality of IRIMC President and the opportunity to have such warm and productive discussion.

At the end of the meeting, IRIMC President received the honorary membership of Iranian Physiotherapy Association.

Dr. Zali was joined in the meeting by Councilor in International Affairs, Dr. Shokouhi, elected member of IRIMC Supreme Council, Dr. Naghavi, Director of International affairs and the official bodies of Iranian Physiotherapy Association (IPA) including Dr. Ebrahimi, Chair of IPA and Dr. Mohseni Bandpey.
