3rd Basic and Clinical Neuroscience Congress was held by IUMS & INSS in Tehran at Razi Convention Center on 29-31 October 2014 in which Dr.Zali gave a speech in the opening ceremony.

Approximately all groups of Iranian medical doctors and other health care professionals in relevant disciplines including pediatric neurologists, internists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, surgeons, psychiatrists, specialists in sport medicine, nurses, and the like participated in this scientific event.

In his opening speech before the 3 Basic and Clinical Neuroscience Congress, Dr. Zali, IRIMC President and professor of Neurosurgery of Shahid Beheshti Medical University praised breakthroughs in the field of neuroscience that have been made by Iranian scientists. "Since 2008 we have witnessed continued progress in neuroscience both regionally and globally that has been achieved by national scientists."He said. IRIMC President mentioned that there are 4 main approaches in treating patients with neurological problems: 1)Pharmacotherapy and administrations of medicine in which big strides have been made; 2)Surgery; 3)Neurological Rehabilitation; and 4)Modern neuroscience approaches that contains nanotechnology application in this field.

Neuroscience, nanotechnology, cellular therapy, imaging, and medical devices have undergone remarkable advances in recent years. By integrating nanotechnology, material science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and neuroscience with neurosurgery, novel approaches can be developed to diagnose and treat a variety of neurological disorders. The application of nanotechnology in neurosurgery is known as "Nanoneurosurgery" and its application in neuroscience in general considered "Nanoneuroscience". While nanotechnology is still a developing field, has revolutionized neuroscience and neurosurgery so far.

Addressing the fact about modern neuroscience, Dr. Zali remarked Iran's impressive and notable improvements in this field.
