International Association for Women's Mental Health (IAWMH) is a Not for
Profit, Non-Governmental & multidisciplinary Organization.
The
mission of IAWMH is:
-To improve the mental health of women throughout the world.
-To expand the fund of knowledge about Women's Mental Health
-To promote gender-sensitive and autonomy-enhancing mental health services for
women.
-To advance collaboration between Societies and Sections.
The
previous IAWMH congresses have been held in Berlin 2001, Washington DC 2004,
Melbourne 2008, Madrid 2011 and Lima 2013 in which a large number of
internationally renowned experts in the field, including, psychiatrists,
psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, general
practitioners and other women’s health professionals, researchers, students,
decision makers, consumers and their families, shared their knowledge and
experiences about the best ways to improve women’s wellbeing.
Biological, psychosocial, public health and
political aspects of health care will be discussed from the perspectives of
researchers and clinicians from different regions of the world. This
multidisciplinary and culturally diverse atmosphere should also provide an
excellent chance for networking and formulating new exciting research and
intervention projects for the future.
