Organised by International Pharmaceutical Federation, the 75th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2015 under the theme “Better practice-science based, evidence driven” will be started tomorrow in Düsseldorf.

In his opening remarks before the 12th International Congress of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain, Dr. Zali acclaimed the medical expertise of recent generations of anaesthesiologists which is contributed to the most significant strides in medicine and surgery.”Nowadays we can define anaesthesiologist as the perioperative physician-the “all-around” physician responsible for providing medical care to each patient undergoing surgery at all stages.”Dr. Zali remarked.

MEDICA 2015 (World Forum for Medicine) is an International Trade Fair and Congress for Medical Technology, Electromedicine, Laboratory Equipment, Diagnostics and Drugs held annually in November in Düsseldorf.

The official launch event for the second edition of FDI Oral Health Atlas took place on Friday 25 September 2015 at FDI Annual World Dental Congress in Bangkok which was attended by FDI members and officials as well as the media. The new edition called The Challenge of Oral Disease – A call for global action serves as an advocacy resource for all oral healthcare professionals and anyone with an interest in oral health.

Thailand was selected by the World Dental Federation (Fédération dentaire internationale) to host the 103rd Annual World Dental Congress 2015 under the theme “Dentistry of the 21st Century”. Expected to draw around 10,000 delegates, this prestigious event, which represents the voice of dentists worldwide, will display new technologies and innovative dentistry science for dental care and treatment.

In the World Hepatitis Summit, co-sponsored by WHO and the World Hepatitis Alliance, and hosted in Glasgow by the Scottish Government on 2-4 September 2015, WHO officially launched manual for the development and assessment of national viral hepatitis plans.

In a ceremony organized by Iranian Medical Council and chaired by Dr. F. Shokouhi, the elected member of IRIMC Supreme Council, IRIMC honored Iranian physiotherapists and celebrated half-century accomplishments and consistent efforts of the veteran physiotherapists.

On Tuesday 8th September 2015, an official meeting convened in Tehran in which Austrian President, Vice-Chancellor, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Austrian Ambassador as well as IRIMC President and other high-level Iranian officials attended.

Each year in Iran, Razi's birthday (27th August, Iranian month 5th Shahrivar) is celebrated and commemorated as the National Day of Pharmacists. This day has been set aside to recognize and honor all pharmacists across the nation.

The Achievement Award of American Academy of Ophthalmology was awarded to three Iranian researchers and ophthalmologists recognizing their significant contribution to the profession.

Each year, in Iran, Avicenna's birthday (23th August, Iranian month: 1st Shahrivar) is celebrated and commemorated as the National Day of Physicians.

The Department of International Affairs of Iranian Medical Council released the June 2015 edition of its English Newsletter.

On 15 June 2015, a round-table meeting took place on the challenges of protecting health-care workers from violence during conflicts and other emergencies, particularly in the Middle East. It was hosted by Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

Health Care in Danger (HCiD) is an ICRC-led project of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement scheduled to run from 2012 to 2015. It aimed at improving the efficiency and delivery of effective and impartial health care in armed conflict and other emergencies. On June 30th, the Humanitarium (Geneva) hosts a public livestreamed conference (18:00 - 19:30 GMT+2) to mark the launch of a first-of-its-kind code of ethics, the “Ethical Principles of Health Care in Times of Armed Conflict and Other Emergencies”
